'Our work centres on the ancient independent Kingdom of Gallovidia, the realm identified as the part of Scotland now called Dumfries & Galloway. Here in Gallovidia, time travel is possible. 

 The Gallovidian Way developed out of The Hidden Histories of Dumfries & Galloway project, the brainchild of our Lionheart of Galloway, DJ McDowall. The project was initially delivered via DJ’s Sleeping Giants CIC and has now evolved into the independent entity that is The Gallovidian Way, run by DJ McDowall’s new community focused organisation The Imaginarium.
Hidden Histories captured The Lost Chronicles of Gallovidia & shared the lost skills, traditions & tales of Galloway with communities across D&G a practise we now ai,m to evolving further in ‘The Gallovidian Way’… the adventure continues!

We want to see our history engendering a sense of belonging, community, pride, and real-life adventure, that we have lost in recent time, while also providing activities that better social health and wellbeing- It's all about raising consciousness by learning lessons from our past that allow us to explore and alter our behaviours today, and better help inform our futures. Working collaboratively in partnerships to bring new employment opportunities to the area, with the ultimate aims of improving the quality of life in the region, and realising the potential and capacity for economic growth throughout Dumfries and Galloway. 

Oor ancestors have awakened, in answer to the call of our generation, to revoke the modern behaviours and return to the ancient Gallovidian Way, promoting a method of life that is eco-conscious, sustainable, and reconnecting people with the land. We bring heritage to life via immersive experiences with some of our greatest character the time travelling Wildings of Galloway,; Gallovidian gatherings - feasts with traditional entertainment. LARPS, school takeovers, interactive tours & storytelling.

Our magnificent landscape has left much evidence of our once diversely rich, politically powerful, and opulent past. Join us in our quest to help Dumfries & Galloway understand & appreciate the importance of its heritage.
